UbiMedique Acute Care System

Healthcare delivery is undergoing transformation due to a number of demographic and technological factors. Shifting population statistics, older patients and increase of chronic diseases have all demanded new thinking in healthcare delivery models. Such models based on creative approaches are now possible with the application of mobile & cloud technologies, smart sensors, low cost bandwidth and internet connectivity, and a host of powerful, affordable devices which can seamlessly connect the recipients and providers of healthcare.

It is in such a context that Mobilexion Technologies partners with leading healthcare providers to develop and deploy cutting-edge technologies that benefit all stakeholders in the healthcare space. Ubimedique Acute Care System is the flagship product from Mobilexion, developed with inputs from leading clinicians and medical research institutions.

Ubimedique Acute Care System suite comprises the following applications:

Doctors DashBoard

Patients in critical care need close monitoring and quick response to deteriorating conditions. The window of opportunity for action may be quite short before the situation becomes irreversibly complicated. Therefore, a system that enables the doctors to get an integrated view of the patient information on an anytime/anywhere basis, over mobile devices would be of immense value.

On invocation, DDB displays patient information in the form of a dashboard. It includes demographic details (name, age, gender, diagnosis, date of admission), images (photograph, x-ray, ECG, etc.), charts (vitals, lab results), tables (medication, input output), records (nurses notes, history, clinical impressions), etc. At every invocation of the application, the doctor will be able to see the latest status of his patient. He can also send messages to the nurse at remote end indicating his impressions and directions. This will be reflected on the NDB within a few seconds. The actions taken by the nurse will be updated into the cloud server through NDB. This in turn will be reflected in the dashboard corresponding to the patient in DDB. This ensures that the doctor is always aware of the bio-markers and other information relating to the patient and the actions performed by the nurse. This mode of communication is more effective and appropriate since it is silent and non-obtrusive.

Nurses DashBoard

It is now well recognized that ineffective communication among patient care team members is a major cause for medical errors. NDB creates an environment that provides complete access of patient-related information among all stakeholders during decision-making.

NDB automates the nursing workflow. It prompts the nurse for entry of nursing actions (medication, reading of vitals, lab results, input-output, episodes, etc.) using intuitive graphical icons, to be stored into a cloud server. The back camera of the tablet is used to take the images of manual reports and upload to the server. It is also used for taking video clips of episodes for storage in the server. In case the communication bandwidth permits, it can also be used for video conferencing between the junior doctors near the patient with the remote doctor in the specialty hospital. It is organized as a number of icons appropriate for the specific critical care unit. Depending on the type of the unit, the modules provided could differ. Thus, NDB is not a single application, but a class of applications each corresponding to a specialty. However, the look, feel and core modules of all of them are the same.

UTT Trolley

UTT 101 is a small trolley that creates its own local WiFi environment and has an attached tablet PC. The foot print is small to allow ease of movement from bed to bed. The arrangement for holding the tablet allows adjustment of height and tilt. Digitization of case sheet pages and other text documents and photographing of patients are so simple that even a novice can complete them within a few seconds.

The system can create its own WiFi environment or use the one already available. Its operation is fully wire-less. Hard-copy printout are generated on a wireless printer kept in a corner. It provides the capability to make conventional paper reports for pasting onto the case sheet or handing over to the patient or bystander.
